Located near East Atlanta Village, Intown Physical Therapy is a PT clinic founded by Dr. Ingrid Anderson, a board-certified Orthopedic clinical specialist, dedicated to relieving pain by treating the underlying causes. The physical therapists at Intown PT combine manual techniques with specialized exercises to help get you back to what you love.

Dr. Ingrid Anderson

PT, DPT

Ingrid Anderson, PT, DPT, received her DPT from Georgia State University in 2010. During her doctoral studies, she developed a passion for pain sciences and manual therapy. She completed the Mercer Orthopaedic Residency program in 2011 where she specialized in unresolved pain and neurodynamics, and received her Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) in 2012.

A native Atlantan, Dr. Anderson knew she wanted to start a private practice in an in-town neighborhood, and she opened Intown Physical Therapy in the Old Fourth Ward in 2013.

In addition to her duties at Intown PT, she has served as an adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at Mercer University and has held numerous volunteer positions with state and national PT organizations.

Dr. Jennifer Freeman PT, DPT- Intown Physical Therapy, Atlanta, GA

Dr. Jennifer Freeman

PT, DPT, OCS

Dr. Freeman graduated in 2013 with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Mercer University. She also completed her Orthopaedic Residency at Mercer University in 2015, after which she joined Intown PT.

Following residency, Dr. Freeman taught gross anatomy in the cadaver lab in Mercer University’s Doctor of physical therapy program, assisted in clinical research, and most notably, helped author, edit, and manage the production of the third edition of Travell, Simons & Simons’ Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction, The Trigger Point Manual.

Dr. Kayla Potts, PT, DPT

Dr. Kayla Potts

PT, DPT

Kayla Potts, PT, DPT, graduated from LaGrange College in 2013 with a BS in Biology. Dr. Potts earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Mercer University in 2016. Her clinical passions include myofascial pain, postural and associated cervical pain, and motor control dysfunction. In addition to being a physical therapist at Intown PT, she also is the high school pitching coach for Woodward Academy.

Dr. Joshua Brown

Dr. Joshua Brown

PT, DPT, COMT

Joshua Brown, PT, DPT, COMT graduated Magna Cum Laude from Kennesaw State University in 2010, with a bachelor’s of science in exercise and health sciences. He later completed his doctorate in physical therapy from Emory University, in 2016, where he also participated in research in the field of dry needling. In 2019 he started his certification in orthopedic manual therapy, and despite the pandemic, completed this coursework and received his COMT in 2022.

Katie Owenby

Office Administrator

Katie Owenby, office administrator, graduated in 2005 from Agnes Scott College with a degree in sociology. After working for the Women’s Resource Center to End Domestic Violence, she changed to healthcare administration, beginning at a small pediatric practice and moving on to Children’s Orthopaedics of Atlanta. She brought her 10 years' experience in healthcare and office management skills to Intown Physical Therapy in 2016. When she is not keeping everyone organized at Intown, she enjoys painting and spending time with her wife Leah and their two dogs.
