Do you accept insurance?

Intown PT is out-of-network with all private insurance and Medicare Advantage plans. We are a participating provider with Medicare. Most of our patients have insurance and many submit for reimbursement using their out-of-network benefits. We are happy to provide you with documentation (super bill or medical receipt) to submit to your insurance provider. For more information on understanding your insurance benefits click here.

What are your rates?

Our discounted self-pay rates are $225 for the initial evaluation and $95 for follow-up appointments. Ask about current discounts for multiple appointments.

How many patients does each physical therapist see at a time?

All appointments at Intown Physical Therapy are one-on-one visits.  We believe in personalized care and giving each client our full attention.

How long are appointments?

New client appointments and existing patients with new injuries are 45-60 minutes and follow-up appointments are 25-30 minutes.

Where do I park?

We have free parking in the parking lot in front and to the side of our building. We share parking with Batteries + Bulbs. There is one handicapped space in front of our entrance.

What is your cancellation policy?

Your appointment time is important to you, your physical therapist, and our other clients.  The following policy is in place to ensure everyone receives timely, one- on- one, uninterrupted care.
• Please cancel your appointment if you have tested positive for the flu, strep, or COVID-19, or have had vomiting, diarrhea, or a fever within the past 24 hours.
• We have a 24-hour reschedule policy, to allow us to reach out to people on our waitlist. A voicemail or email suffices to reschedule your appointment. You may be charged for the full cost of your appointment if you do not call to reschedule at least 24 hours before your appointment time.

Do you take walk-ins?

We operate by appointment only.  Appointments can be made by phone or requested through the website.

Does PT hurt?

We don’t believe the adage “no pain, no gain.” Our goal in physical therapy is to reduce your pain, get you back to doing everything you want to do, and help decrease risk of future musculoskeletal problems.  With these objectives in mind, we often have to make changes to your movement patterns. Our techniques help you move in more optimal ways that will reduce the stress on the painful regions. Sometimes these changes might make you sore for a few days after therapy. You are in charge of your treatment, and if something feels unpleasant, we can adjust.

What’s a typical visit like?

The first visit is your evaluation. We will ask you a lot of questions about the problem that brought you into the clinic. We will also review your health history. Then we will evaluate the problematic area. We might assess your posture, range of motion, and strength. We might look at your walking and balance, and do specific tests to the region to help us determine the root cause of your  problem. Often, we will palpate (feel) the area to gather information about the tissues in question.
We will follow with treatment that may include: dry needling, manual therapy, education on how to manage your symptoms yourself, and a home exercise program that may include an adjustment to your current exercise regime.

What can I expect from pelvic floor therapy?

Similar to other body parts, the first visit is your evaluation. We will ask you a lot of questions about the problem that brought you into the clinic. If you are comfortable, we will perform an internal exam, testing the muscles and tissues of your pelvic floor. This can be done vaginally (if applicable) or rectally. While an internal exam is helpful, it is not necessary to be successful with pelvic floor therapy.

How often will I have to come to PT?

We will discuss and together decide on the frequency. Many people come 1-2 times a week for 2-6 weeks. This depends on your individual situation. Some people only come in once or twice, and others choose to come in on a regular schedule for maintenance or to update their exercises.

What should I wear?

It is always helpful to be able to expose the body part we are treating. Exercise clothes are great but not necessary.  If we need to expose a body part, we have some shorts or gowns if needed. We respect your comfort and privacy at all times.

I’m hurting worse today, should I reschedule?

Just like you would still go to the dentist if you had a toothache, you should keep your PT appointment even if you are experiencing an increase in symptoms. We can often reduce your pain and will help you understand how to manage it at home.
