No one understands your pain better than we do.
Our practice is based on working one-on-one with each client. Because of declining insurance payments, many healthcare providers feel forced into a one-size-fits-all approach to patient care. Based on the patient’s perspective, we create a treatment plan using a structured clinical reasoning approach. We consider:
- Patient’s activity limitations
- The source of symptoms
- Contributing factors
- Pathobiology related to pain and tissues
We begin by finding out how pain is preventing the patient from doing what he or she wants to do. Then we consider the pathobiological factors underlying the pain.
Pathobiology related to tissues refers to whether the pain is mechanical or inflammatory. An example of mechanical pain would be knee pain that only comes on in certain positions. One example of an inflammatory condition would be back pain that is worse in the morning but gets better with movement.
